📉 This article from the Globe and Mail lays out just HOW poor we are and why!

📉 Canada suffered yet another decline in per capita GDP in the fourth quarter of 2023: making it the fifth decline in the past six quarters, resulting in the worst sustained drop in more than 30 years.

🔻 We were once the 6th richest country in the world while now we’re the 18th. This graph here explains that while Economic growth has been slowing down for decades, our GDP per Capita as a % of the US GDP per capita was relatively stable from 1990 to 2014 averaging around 80% and then you can see things falling dramatically after 2015 all the way down to 73%.

🔻 Canada’s Richest Province – Alberta of course, ranking 14th among US states.  And The rest of Canada?  Well Ontario is just ahead of Alabama and BC is poorer than Kentucky.
