With a record-breaking 40,000 British Columbians moving to Alberta last year, including many of my own clients, I get asked a lot about the weather. So here it is! 🌦️
Calgary, AB:
– ❄️ Days of Snow: 54
– 🌧️ Days of Rain: 114
– ☀️ Days of Sun: 333
– 🌡️ Average Temperature:
– Winter: -1°C (30°F), but can vary from 4.4°C (39.9°F) to -36.2°C (-33.2°F)
– Summer: 17°C (63°F)
Vancouver, BC:
– ❄️ Days of Snow: 9
– 🌧️ Days of Rain: 169
– ☀️ Days of Sun: 192
– 🌡️ Average Temperature:
– Winter: 4°C (39°F)
– Summer: 18°C (64°F)
In Calgary, you do have to live through an average of 54 days of snow each year while in Vancouver you only have to deal with nine.
In Vancouver, however, you have to put up with a whopping 169 days of rain, almost half the year, yet in Calgary it’s only 114.
Calgary also boasts more sunny days than any other big city in Canada at an incredible 333, while Vancouver only receives 192 days.
Lastly, we have temperatures that vary wildly in Calgary with winters averaging -1 degrees, but often getting way colder, and summers 17 degrees.
In Vancouver, things are much more mild with winters averaging 4 degrees and summer 18 degrees.
