The provincial health orders in BC restricting outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people were recently lifted, meaning we can begin to enjoy this early spring weather outdoors with friends and family! If you live in Surrey’s Clayton Heights neighbourhood, there are some fantastic parks to enjoy, likely within walking distance of where you live!
Clayton Park
Located off of 184th St on 70 Ave, Clayton Park features a playground, tennis & pickleball courts, softball field, nature walking trails, and some picnic areas. Enjoy a picnic with your family and break out your ball and glove for a game of catch on the ball field!
Clayton Park Off Leash Dog Park
Located within Clayton Park adjacent to Clayton Heights Secondary School, the Off Leash Dog park is the perfect spot to bring your furry friends! They have separate areas for both large and small dogs to help ensure your pets stay safe. There are also doggie water fountains to keep your pups hydrated!
Shannon Park
Shannon Park is a small green space off of 73 Ave at 192 St. It features a small playground and plenty of open space. It’s a very popular spot for families with young kids! The trees are still growing, providing more shade in the summer months as well.
North Creek Duck Pond
Located behind Clayton Heights Secondary, the North Creek Duck Pond is a quaint pond with beautiful surroundings. It is a popular destination for family walks to enjoy nature and watch the ducks on the pond.
Katzie Park
Adjacent to Katzie Elementary in East Clayton, Katzie Park has a new playground and plenty of benches and seating areas. The park also features a small pond that is home to ducks and other birds.
As the days get a little warmer and longer, we urge you to take advantage of these great neighborhood parks whenever you can! Stay safe and have fun out there!
