Canadian’s Standard of living has plummeted, with Real GDP per capita falling to the same levels as 2017. πŸ“‰

Real Talk with Corbin | March 16, 2024 | written by Corbin Chivers

While US real GDP per capita has been steadily increasing, here in Canada we’re actually currently decreasing.

This highlights the fact that since 2015 we have rapidly declining when compared to the US. We had been stable at about 83% for about 24 years and then within just 5 years, had fallen to 76% without things getting any better since. πŸ“Š

Lastly while there was some good news at the end of last quarter with labor productivity, increasing for the first time in SEVEN quarters, it also marked the third consecutive year of decline which is the worst in 40 years. πŸ˜…πŸ“‰

πŸ”΅ So what do you think? Why has the Standard of Living in Canada gotten dramatically worse over the last 8 years, and is there anything we can do to stop it?
